Foster care and adoption

At any given time, there are approximately 7,000 children in foster care in Wisconsin who deserve safety and nurturing in a family setting. Foster parents provide a temporary home for children until they can be safely reunited with biological family or reach another form of permanency, such as adoption or guardianship. As the largest provider of foster care programming in the state, Children’s Wisconsin offers high levels of support to foster and adoptive families. By opening your home to a child in your community, you become part of the story.

Foster parents may be licensed in one of the four foster care programs – General Foster Care, Treatment Foster Care, General Foster Care/Adoption, or Respite Foster Care (programs vary according to region).
